The Tempera Splat Experience is our signature high-energy art session! It’s not just about painting; it’s about the freedom to be messy, bold, and creative. Using our non-toxic, water-based neon tempera paints, you’ll transform a blank canvas into a glowing masterpiece.

Unlike traditional art classes, there are no mistakes here - only splashes, swipes, sprays, drips, and splats. Under our UV blacklights, every drop of paint pops with an electric glow, making the experience as much about the process as it is about the final product!

The Cosmic Splat Tempera Process

We’ve designed the Tempera Splat Experience to be seamless and stress-free for painters of all ages (as well as their parents/teachers!).

​

The Gear Up: Before you board, visit our outdoor Gear Up Station to suit up in protective wear.

 

The Palette: You’ll receive your own Creation Station caddy, which you’ll fill with your choice of paint colors and a variety of Splat Tools.

​

The Studio: Once inside our climate-controlled 26' mobile studio, you’ll have 20 minutes of pure creative freedom at your dedicated station.

Tempera Splat Tools & Techniques

 

While we provide traditional brushes, the real fun comes from our non-traditional Splat Tools. At the Gear Up Station, you can grab these items:

 

• A Paint Spray Bottle: Create nebulas or soft mist effects by spritzing layers of paint across your canvas.

• A Dropper: Perfect for controlled drip art or layering bold pops of color exactly where you want them.

​

• A Toothbrush: A fan favorite! Use the bristles to create a fine starfield flick or a heavy splatter effect.

• A Foam Paint Sponge: Ideal for stamping textures or blending colors directly on the canvas.

Want to take your glowing art to the next level? Here are a few insider secrets from our crew to help you master the splat.

​

Embrace the Layers (But Don't Over-Stir): Neon paints are most vibrant when they sit on top of each other. If you brush or blend them too much, they can start to look muddy. Try layering your splats and sprays to keep those colors crisp and electric.

​

The Glow Hierarchy: Not all neon colors are created equal under the blacklight!​​

​

• The Superstars: Fluorescent yellow, green, orange, and pink are the brightest and will pop the most.

​

• ​The Unsung Heroes: Fluorescent blue and purple have a softer glow, but they are essential for adding depth and shadows. Use them as your base or background to make the brighter colors really explode off the canvas.​

The Special Effects Palette: While the neon colors bring the glow, our black, white, and metallic paints are creative accents that could give your masterpiece a little extra sparkle and personality.
