The journey to Cosmic Splat began 27 years ago. Back in 1999, I discovered the magic of the digital world, and I’ve spent nearly three decades building a brand and a community around the thrill of bargain shopping.

While my career was digital, my heart has always been rooted in the physical world and the power of shared experiences.

The Magic of Memory Making

I’ve always been a memory maker at heart. Whether it was bringing a sense of magic to the holidays for my kids and grandkids, gathering friends around a table for a home-cooked meal, or planning a big family vacation, my greatest joy is creating moments that stick with people. I’ve always found that there is something special about the way a shared experience can bring us all closer together.

When I look back at my own most cherished core memories, like vibing under the stars during a concert at Red Rocks, whitewater rafting down Clear Creek, or watching the Christmas Parade in Manitou Springs, I feel an immense sense of gratitude toward the nameless people behind the scenes whose work made those experiences possible for me and my family.

Cosmic Splat is my way of paying that gratitude forward. I want to be that person for you—the one who provides the space, the tools, and the creative spark for a memory you’ll recall fondly.

Finding Beauty in the Pour

​

I stumbled upon fluid art during a time when I needed a reminder that beauty often comes from a bit of mess and now I kind of see it as a metaphor for life.

In a pour, you start with a cup full of different colors—some you’ve carefully chosen and others that form when the colors you chose combine. You do your best to tilt the canvas, guide the cells, and create a pattern, but in reality, the paint is going to do what the paint is going to do.

​You can’t control every drop or how the colors collide, but if you lean into the movement and embrace the unexpected, the result is always something unique and beautiful. It taught me that even when things don't go exactly as planned, there is still incredible beauty to be found in the "splat."
