Are outside art materials allowed?

To ensure the best possible glow and the highest quality results, we do not allow outside art supplies on the shuttle. This includes, but is not limited to, personal canvases, paints, stickers, or embellishments. We provide everything you need for a perfectly vibrant, Cosmic masterpiece! If you would like extra canvases, let us know! We can provide them at a low, wholesale price.

Can we bring food or drinks onto the bus?

To keep the splat on the canvas and off your snacks, we do not allow food or drinks inside the mobile studio.

Is alcohol allowed on Cosmic Splat?

Intergalactic law (and our insurance policy) dictate the only spirits allowed on board are the creative kind. Our shuttle runs strictly on a dry fuel system, so alcohol is not permitted inside the studio.

Are pets allowed on the Cosmic Splat bus?

For the safety and comfort of our painters and our furry friends, we do not allow pets or Emotional Support Animals (ESAs) inside the mobile studio. While we love animals, the Cosmic Splat environment isn't the best fit for them for a few reasons:

Safety First: Our studio is a high-energy space with wet paint, trip hazards, and confined movement.

Sensitive Paws: We use specialty paints and cleaning agents that aren't ideal for paws or fur.

Sensory Environment: The UV lights, music, and high-energy vibe can be overwhelming for some animals.

Service Animal Policy: We do, of course, welcome task-trained service animals as defined by the ADA. Please keep in mind that the studio floor can be slippery and paint splatter is part of the experience, so we recommend taking extra precautions to keep your service animal's coat protected.

What is your weather policy?

If Cosmic Splat determines that weather conditions (heavy snow, ice, or winds exceeding 35 mph) make it unsafe for the shuttle to launch, we will contact you to reschedule at no cost.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We aim to make your booking and event experience as seamless as possible! We use Square to process all transactions securely. We currently accept:

All Major Credit & Debit Cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB, and UnionPay.

Contactless "Tap" Payments: Use your phone or watch via Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay for a lightning-fast checkout at community pop-up events or to purchase an add-on item, like a mini UV flashlight.

Cash App Pay: Scan a custom QR code on our terminal to pay instantly using your Cash App balance.

Digital Invoices: For corporate or school bookings, we can send a secure Square Invoice directly to your email for easy online payment via credit card or ACH bank transfer.

Checks:  To secure your date, the non-refundable deposit must be received and cleared before the reservation is officially confirmed. The remaining balance is due at least 15 business days prior to your event. A $50 Returned Check Fee will be applied to any dishonored payments. Should a check be returned, the total balance plus the fee must be paid immediately via credit card or ACH bank transfer.

For extra convenience, we also accept Venmo, allowing you to pay using your Venmo balance or a linked account.

To keep the line moving and our artists glowing, we do not accept cash payments. Cosmic Splat is a cashless studio. We accept all major credit cards and mobile tap-to-pay options.

What are the policies for private parties and on-site field trips?

Our scheduling is tailored to your headcount. We can accommodate small groups (10 or fewer) all at once, or set up a seamless rotation schedule for large groups (more than 10).To secure a spot on our event calendar for your party, on-site field trip, or private company event, we use the following payment process:Securing Your Date: A non-refundable $150 deposit (which is applied to your package total), the permit fee (if any), and a signed Service Agreement are required to reserve Cosmic Splat for your event.
Temporary Use Permit: To make things easy, Cosmic Splat will handle the paperwork and filing for any city-required temporary use permit (typically $0-$100). The cost of the permit will be added to your invoice and collected with your deposit.
Deep Space Travel Surcharge: Galaxies 25 miles or beyond our home planet are subject to a travel surcharge to cover extra fuel and flight time. This will be added to your invoice and is due with your final payment.Final Balance: Your remaining balance (package price + travel fee - $150 = remaining balance) is due 7 days before your event. Please note that we are unable to accept day-of payments.
Payment Issues: In the event of a returned payment, the balance must be resolved within 24 hours. A $50 returned payment fee will be applied to your invoice.Rescheduling: We offer one complimentary reschedule with 7 or more days' notice.
Late-Notice Changes: Rescheduling requests made with less than 7 days' notice are subject to a $75 service fee to secure a new date.
Cancellations: All on-site field trip bookings include a $150 non-refundable retainer. Cancellations made with more than 48 hours' notice will receive a refund of the package price and travel fee minus $150. Permit fee is non-refundable in all circumstances.
The 'No-Launch' Window: Cancellations made less than 48 hours before our scheduled arrival are non-refundable except for the travel fee. We love supporting local 501(c)(3) nonprofits by bringing our Immersive Splatter & Pour Experience right to your location! We handle all the ticketing logistics online so your organization can raise money without the headache of tracking cash or managing physical tickets.The Give-Back SplitAdvance Presales: $10 per ticket goes directly back to your organization for every $25 + tax ticket sold online ahead of time.
Event-Day Walk-Ups: $6 per ticket goes back to your organization for every $25 + tax ticket purchased at the shuttle door.
Fundraiser Payout: Your total fundraising earnings are paid out to your organization within 7 business days after your event.
How It WorksBook & Secure Your Date: To lock in your date on our calendar and initiate any required city permit paperwork, a signed Service Agreement and a $150 deposit (plus the permit and/or travel fee, if applicable) are due upon booking.
Dedicated Ticket Page: We set up a custom ticketing page on our website specifically for your fundraiser. You simply share the link with your community and supporters.

We Roll Up & Glow: On event day, we bring the music, neon glow, and paint! We accommodate painters through fun, seamless rotations inside the shuttle throughout your scheduled time.

Walk-Up Buffer: We commit to staying an extra 30 minutes past your scheduled presale block to welcome and accommodate event-day walk-up painters.
Extended Stays: If there is strong walk-up demand on event day, we’re happy to stay longer to keep the glow going, provided our schedule and supplies allow it!
 How do ticket minimums, deposits, and fees work?To bring the mobile studio out, your fundraiser must reach the 25-ticket presale threshold at least 7 days before your event date.If you reach the minimum: Your $150 deposit is fully refunded and added to your final fundraiser payout. (Note: Any permit or travel fees collected at booking cover hard costs and are not included in the payout).
If you are under the minimum: You can purchase the remaining tickets to hit 25, reschedule to a new date with a fresh sales window, or cancel.
Cancellation & Fee Breakdown: If you choose to cancel due to low ticket sales, all presold tickets will be refunded to your buyers. However, the outcomes for your initial fees are:$150 Deposit: Non-refundable (covers administrative setup, scheduling, and ticket refund processing fees).
Permit Fees: Non-refundable (paid directly to local jurisdiction/municipal offices).
Travel Fees: Fully refunded.
City Permits & LogisticsLocation: Your organization is responsible for securing an approved host location with suitable parking for our shuttle.

Power: We are equipped with onboard power for up to 2 hours. If your event runs longer, we just need access to a standard 110V/20-amp outlet within 50 feet (or venue approval for our quiet generator).

Why isn't the Premium Acrylic Pour Experience offered at pop-ups?

We keep our community pop-ups and fundraisers focused exclusively on our Immersive Splatter & Pour Experience for two main reasons:Wardrobe Safety: Acrylic paint is permanent on fabric. While we provide protective gear, paint has a way of finding bare spots! Pop-up visitors usually stumble upon us spontaneously and aren't dressed for messy art they can't wash out of their clothes.Capacity & Wait Times: Our Splatter & Pour sessions allow us to host up to 25 guests per hour doing 1 canvas each, whereas acrylic pouring requires focused setup, mixing, and drying logistics that cap capacity at just 10 guests per hour, each doing 2 canvases each.If you’re excited to try the Premium Acrylic Pour Experience, it is available exclusively for privately booked events where guests can plan ahead, dress for the mess, and enjoy a dedicated, relaxed session!

Question 10

How far in advance to I need to book?

Some cities require Cosmic Splat to file for a temporary use permit to set up, even when we are operating on private property. The city can take 5 business days - 3 weeks to approve the permit, provided there are no hiccups.

Booking early gives us a comfortable window to get all the paperwork approved so your event goes off without a hitch!

If your city requires a permit, we recommend booking a month or more in advance to be safe. To make it a hassle-free experience for you, we handle the filing and you only have to cover the fee!

Question 11

What if my guest count changes after booking?

Accepted Answer

You don’t need to submit a final headcount. Our private party packages are booked by duration and include a maximum painter capacity (e.g., 1 hour includes up to 25 painters).If you need more time or want to accommodate more guests than your original package allows, you can upgrade to a larger package with at least 48 hours' notice (subject to schedule and supply availability). Please note that packages are flat-rate time blocks and cannot be downgraded once booked.
